Are you somewhat computer literate?

Do you enjoy being with others and having fun? Friends of the Library has added several computers and is looking for volunteers to help put some of their books for sale on half.com. They train; it’s easy.

Come to the Mahon Library Wednesday or Thursday mornings between 9 a.m. and noon, and sign up.

IntregraCare Hospice is looking for volunteers to visit with patients and families.

If you have a compassionate heart and want to make a difference in the lives of others, IntegraCare has volunteer opportunities available to visit with patients in their homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities.

Other opportunities include calling patients to check in, playing cards or dominoes, and reading scripture.

South Plains Association of Governments-Area Agency on Aging is hosting its first annual Caregiver Conference. This free event is open to all caregivers, anyone facing the challenges of dementia and those who want to learn methods for dealing with the stress that comes with caregiving.

There is limited seating, and an rsvp is needed. The event will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Science Spectrum Hall.

Guest speaker is Tam Cummings, author of Untangling Alzheimer’s.
