Volunteer Opportunities:

Exodus Prison Ministry

Exodus Prison Ministry is an all-volunteer organization that has been providing correspondence Bible studies to prisoners across the United States for 30 years.

Exodus is seeking volunteers who will prepare the Bible study materials.

Each Bible study lesson includes three books, question sheets, answer sheets, and various inserts.

Volunteers prepare these materials by sorting and arranging them in proper order. They fold matching questions and answer sheets and bundle each set of lessons with the proper books so that they are ready for another group of volunteers to mail the materials to the prisoners.

Exodus is also in need of a Community Advocate to help with fundraising activities and volunteer recruitment so Exodus can serve the ever increasing numbers of inmates requesting enrollment in the Bible study.

Silver Star Health Network

Silver Star Health Network has requested volunteers to help Silver Star participants with crochet, knitting, crafts, wood work, reading with or to clients in a day care setting.

Volunteers are needed once or twice a month for two hours at a time.

Dispute Resolution

Dispute Resolution is looking for volunteers for the Lubbock County STEPS program.

Volunteers assist with family visitation – generally on weekends, Thursday or Friday evenings, in 2-3 hour blocks of time. Volunteers are needed to assist with administrative/clerical tasks.

Volunteers are also needed to serve as an observer or provide non-contact oversight: when children are removed from the home, a volunteer serves as an “observer” during the child/family visitation time at the Dispute Resolution office.

For More Information

If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities or would like to know more about Lubbock RSVP, call the Lubbock RSVP office at 743-7787.

Today is a good day to volunteer.
